I need help on how to get my dog back from my evil mother-in-law. Me and my Fiancee had got our 1 year old German Shepherd when she was about 9 weeks. He was underage when he got her registerd for her liecnse but his mother was there with him and he had sign where the owner is sapposed to. Now that we moved out the house and that he's 18 his mom wont give us the dog and said that our dog is under her name Only beacuse the papers for the vet is under her name. Now our only proof to her to let her that the dog is our is the registration form but we dont know for sure if that is going to work. We need help on how to get our little girl back ASAP before its too late. So how ever thats out there that knows what to do please help me and my fiancee.

Hi, Are you saying the dog is in danger from his mother? If this is the case and you are in the Uk contact the RSPCA and see if they will help. If you are in the USA [ I only assume this because of your spelling and the fact that the dog has a license] then contact your local animal welfare organisation. If this is a purely legal matter.....[it's her signature on any relevant paper work], I'm not sure where you stand but you could try posting this question in Law.

In the UK the only proof of ownership is a receipt for the purchase. Don't know if this is the case abroad, but if your Fiancee has a receipt then I think you may have a case. If this is so, can you not take the dog back and let the mother in law try to take you to court to get her back?
