Birthday Greetings Category?

Morning Ed - As dear Dot is a popular member of AB, I have posted birthday greetings to her/him (?) on four different threads & in different categories.

Also posted the same for someone elses birthday on a different thread.

Maybe it's time for a dedicated 'Birthday Greetings' category?

Requesting ONE place for 'Greetings' seemed better than having them scattered all over AB.

So okay, so we shouldn't have a 'Greetings' category & under no circumstances, absolutely no more 'small talk' in any other category - how do you propose for the AB Ed to monitor that?

I don't think it would. We would end up in the same situation as we were in when Chatterbank was introduced.

Firstly Kerplunk - we all know this is not a chat site!

This was a suggestion to the AB Ed & Co - you know, the ones who make the final decisions!

As yet, I & others haven't received any replies from them & until we do, nothing further can be done about it.

Whether the Ed will grant a 'Greetings' category - or not, you will never stop a certain amount of 'small talk' on some of the categories - just wait & see!

Hi smudge, I think a greetings category would benefit everyone as you say keep all the happy birthday or we�ve just had a baby announcements in one place (and Christmas greetings) Kerplunk this is not a chat site but there will always be a small amount of chat that�s how humans communicate! Dare I even say the ED has engaged a small amount of banter in the past; it gives the feel of a welcoming and friendly site. Have a nice day Kerplunk.

I think it makes sense too & yes the AB Ed has at times joined it certain threads - even wishing me & others a personal 'Happy Birthday'!!!!
