Wynton Marsalis did a piece called "The New Orleans Function" which had a section called the "Death of Jazz". It is on an extended LP called "The Majesty of the Blues". could be this??

Try looking for a CD soundtrack from the film "New Orleans" it has a track called "Free as a bird" which is what you call a New Orleans funeral march. Other tunes are: "didn't he ramble" "just a closer walk with thee" "precious lord" these are all New Orleans spirituals and played live at funerals by Jazz Bands.
