It's an old 'get you home' trick - a raw egg ( not the yolk ) will seal a leak for a while.

Just the white?

Oh, and how many?
A couple would be ample but it would be much better to use Bars leaks or Radweld. Not as messy and more permanent.
Will be easier and a lot more permanent to repair properly. What part of the system is leaking?

I don't know I'm a girl!!!
My uncle told me to look under the car, I burst out laughing, then realised he was serious.
Best to get a garage to have a look, it could just be a cheap hose leaking, a dozen eggs won't cure that !

Thanks
Remember that once you get the leak fixed you will need to add anti-freeze to the cooling system. If you have been topping up due to the leak then you probably don't have enough ( if any ) and this could be an expensive mistake. If you run the engine and lift the bonnet you might be able to see where the leak is - even girls can look under bonnets !
