I have recieved a leaflet through the post regarding changes to tax credits and if something changes in your circumstances you should advise them.
1 change is if you or your partner are out of the country for more than 8 weeks they should be advised.
My husband has just gone out to Iraq for 7.5 months. What effect will this have on my benefits?

(Have posted this in Bus & Fin too as not sure where was best to put it!)

well I think the form is a standard one that all claimants recieve, but if he is working in Iraq then the tax he pays would be different \i guess, and so yes it is sonmething you need to tell them abiout, has his employer told him about the tax laws that apply to his earnings whilst he is out there?
I know it doesn't answer you question but I rang them today to report a change in circumstances and they said their systems are down till Thursday!
I'm sorry I can't answer your question either but just wanted to say how sick and tired of the 'Tax Credits' system I am. I hadn't received a penny from them in nearly 18 months because they said they had overpaid me. Over a space of a month they had sent me 13 different forms with different amounts so I was so confused. Anyway I complained and I just got so fed up with them and the systems also always being down that I just cancelled my claim. They're more hassle than they're worth.
