I have got a problem with the pc in that, when I start internet explorer, my home page has been replaced by

http://safeiepage.com/

and a new toolbar has been added. I also get a pop up warning me that I have spyware/a trojan problem.

I have used AVG anti-spyware tool but this one will not go away.

How do I get this to stop happenning?

Also, if anyone knows how I can irritate the owners of the http://safeiepage.com/ a thousand times more than they are irritating me, I would love to know....

You need to run programmes such as ewido, adaware and xcleaner.

All free, all safe - download them from this webpage:

Uninstall your generic browser and use this one . So many times now questions mirror my formative internet ignorance. It's a learning curve as steeeep as you wan't to make it .Always a pleasure to put people on the right track and I'm grateful to those here that help me.
I'm not clicking links.
You need to click on links to download programs
try the Adaware website at http://www.lavasoft.com/
You should never uninstall IE, even if you never use it.
Doing so can make your whole system unstable.

You can use as many browsers as you like, without uninstalling IE.
You can't remove IE anyway - not easily anyway - if you try uninstalling IE through the control panel - it will simply default to it's original version - ie version 5 or below
I was drunk.

Do you work for those ********?
Question Author
thanks for the answers folks, will try them next week, going away this weekend so wont be bothering with the pc.

as for doink's question about whether I work for those ********, nope, I don't, but i would call them ***** rather than your choice of derogatory description... and I am sure you can all imagine a very uncomplimentary word with only 5 letters in it LOL!
