I live with my partner in a house which I own. She owes the Inland Revenue some back tax but she doesn't have the resources to pay. Can the Inland Revenue take my assets into account (house and savings) to settle her debt? The underpaid tax relates to a period before I even met her. Any advice most welcome - thanks in advance.

I would think that very unlikely, she is responsible not you, phone the inland revenue helpline, they are very helpful and won't ask who you are or where you live, don't worry, they normally come up with a compromise solution anyway.
Only if the Inland Revenue can prove she has disposed of any assets by gifting money to you.
