My late mother used to whisper the following lines to us as children in bed as she wished us goodnight -
"Good Night, God Bless You, Go to bed and undress you, Good Night Sweet Repose, Half the bed and all the clothes".
I have always remembered them and In the last few days of her life I whispered the last two lines to her as she lay in bed.
I have often wondered where these lines came from, presumably from a poem. I would very much like to know their origin. Can anyone help please?

Sorry, I don't know the poem but it sounds lovely. I have memories similar. Every night my Dad used to say the same thing to me and my brothers, 'Nos da cariad bach', and we couldn't pronounce see you in the morning in welsh, so we used to say 'see you yn y bore'
