My mate has brought his Sky+ box round my house, the idea being that we copy some stuff from his Sky+ hard disk onto my DVD recorder HDD, edit it then burn to DVD when finished. The problem is that I don't have Sky and so his box is not connected to a satellite dish and so when he turns it on it starts to search for listings and doesn't stop. All we want to do is access and play the contents of the hard disk, is there any way of getting round this?

My BF gets his mum to record things on her sky+ box and then goes round and copies them straight onto his laptop. Not sure how he does it but I could ask him. Let me know if you want me to find out and i'll get him to give you an answer.
