Cope fans refer to themselves as drudes, which would make him the arch-drude.

A cross between a druid and dude (?), due to Cope's interest in prehistoric Britain, archaeology and folklore. Cope's site here references a "drude" in the Aug 92 section, but I'm guessing they mean druid.
