The ps/2 is simply a port on a computer for connecting keyboard or mouse to your computer.

It is a 6 pin din connection and is the pc standard.
ps/2 means Personal System (generation 2), and was originally a model of computer manufactured by IBM. Among many other things that were first introcduced to the personal computer market by this model were the keyboard ports we are familiar with. And since we still use them, they are just referred to as ps/2 ports.
It also means that your PS2 keyboard with all the hotkeys wont fit the latest computers which seem to be all USB.
