My boyfriend is about to sign up for an IVA. Will this affect me in any way? We currently have no financial links, but would like to get a mortgage in the next year or so... will he/we be able to do this?

You may find that he will have problems obtaining a mortgage with an IVA. You should be ok providing you own credit is clean.

It will definitely affect you as soon as a financial link is made - this couild be anythign from applying for a mortgage to having the electric bill in both names.

Once a lender sees that your partner has an IVA - you will have very little chance of getting main stream credit.
