This problem has been solved by 2 friends of mine at different times by placing their sons (1) in an Abbey choir and (2) in a major church choir. In both cases it has been highly successful, leading to individual lessons for each, overseas travel later on and many excellent friendships.

Thanks for answering. I love the idea of a choir and my son said he is happy to go anywhere,as long as he can sing. I think as I live in the middle of the Yorkshire countryside an abbey or large church choir would be hard to find without a great amount of traveling. That said I will certainly be looking in to it.
Whilst drinking my coffee just now I idly Googled "Yorkshire Male Voice Choirs" "Yorkshire Mixed Choirs" and "Yorkshire Choirs" and each came up with a lot of choirs at different locations which may be of help to you.

Thank you Maude. I will do those searches now,it's touching to think that while drinking your coffee you were doing that for me. It never occured to me to look on the net. Thanks again
