Ive noticed about 5 or 6 bald spots on our puppy, they are round and about the size of a 5 pence piece. We are taking him to the vet today but just wanted to know if anyone else had experieced this and what it might be so i know what to expect?

my money would be on ringworm which is a fungus infection. The vet will give you something that will clear it up. But I 'think' that you can catch it from the puppy so be careful.
Good thing your going to the vet, it could be anything: Could be ringworm or it could be mites acting up that are normally on dogs depending on stress and such they act up sometimes, if they are they aren't contagious, if it's the mites that cause mange then they are contagious, and if it's ringworm be careful also. I don't know what a 5 pence is and what it looks like so this is my guess. Some allergies or fleas also get dogs to bite at fur and cause bald spots. Let us know what vet says will you..
Hi this sounds alike to what my mums dog had, firstly and for a while he was treated for a viral infection but they later found that he had an anal gland problem.

Hope he gets well soon
