For better or for worse, he certainly changed 'a night out in the pub' for many people:

100 years ago - wow! I had no idea it was that long ago!

I read a wiki item where the deceased would be remembered for inventing Pop Tarts.

At least these two did something useful whilst stll alive.

Maybe even doing karaoke WITH a pop tart lol!

Lots of ballooning all over the place thanks to him! Including me! I do a great rendition of Under Your Thumb. And my catlogue includes many popular favourites such as.........Ok. OK. I'll get my coat!

Smow, i think you'll find the guy was 100 when he died. Karaoke is not 100 years old😉

Lol!

This was what I usually attempted on the very rare occasions that I participated in karaoke sessions.

I couldn't sing it then and, and as my neighbours can currently testify, I can't sing it now either!

My singing voice is only good for Deck of Cards

Chris, I could hear the voice and although it wasn't loud enough, it sounded alright.

Was it really you?

Question Author

^^^ No, Barsel, it wasn't.

I posted a karaoke version of the song, where Paul McCartney's voice has been electronically suppressed.  You really, really wouldn't want to hear my attempt to reintroduce the lyrics to the backing track!

I didn't realise it was Paul McCartney as I could hardly hear it, and I said,' It sounded alright!' ðŸ˜…

The best thing about karaoke is singers who know they are bad, and ham it up, and good singers who are worth listening.

The bad thing, or best thing depending on your view point, are people who are poor but think they are good.

I always preferred the pub piano singer and a good old sing a long, the pianist looking over the shoulder making eyes at me, down at the Old Bull and Bush ta ra la la la
