Sadie lady - yes I was also looking forward to it and all I can say is that it was utter tripe!! So far fetched it was laughable. The main character hearing a gun shot from that far away, immediately deciding someone had been murdered then rowing across the water to snoop around, finding his body in the first place in 5 mins flat...... walking in on a C.I.D meeting...

The reviewer for the 'i' newspaper seems to have been equally unimpressed:

I'm glad I forgot it was on.

I planned on watching it on Saturday, but maybe not.  I believe it is a two parter.  I was expecting good things as it was written by Robert Thorogood, the creator of Death in Paradise and I like most of the cast.

I'll give it a go.

I'm suprised they made it into a tv prog. I d/l it to my kindle and it was rubbish.

I could not get on with any of his books and I am in no way a book snob but I do enjoy Death in Paradise.

The DIP books are dire

The main character hearing a gun shot from that far away, immediately deciding someone had been murdered then rowing across the water to snoop around, finding his body in the first place in 5 mins flat...... walking in on a C.I.D meeting  in the police station with nobody stopping her, and then they let her join in the talk! It went from bad to worse.  Didn't even bother to watch the 2nd episode.

I thought it was rubbish.

I don't know why I watched it because the book was rubbish, too!

Copycat "Thursday Murder Club"?

I enjoyed the book I must say. I am pretty sure that the clash of "murder clubs" is coincidental.

It's "cosy crime" genre fiction. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it is obviously mine.

I wondered if anyone had read any by Greg Mosse. He's next on my list 😚

Total dross imo. I was looking forward to it because it was the same writer as Death in Paradise which we follow every brilliant episode. We have friends who live in Marloe and I am now embarrased to tell them it may be of interest to them to watch.

I am always intrigued by books that are set in small, but real places. It must be strange if you know the place concerned.

Not sure I'd have wanted to watch a dramatisation of this particular one even though I enjoyed the book.
