Disabled Access In Imax Cinema.

There's an elevator to the 2nd floor where the cinema is.  But you enter the auditorium near the screen and have steps to climb to reach your seat.

Whoever designed it can't have given much though to disabled customers.

You'd think the designers would work to ensure no potential customers were excluded.

Isn't there normally a section for disabled people nearer the front?

It may have been designed in the days when it wasn't considered an issue. There will be regs nowadays, but I don't know what they are. A new building should be able to be designed to accommodate people with mobility issues; shouldn't cost a fortune, just requires awareness and thought.

Imax in Belfast is part of Cineworld, which claims that their only cinemas with some restrictions on disabled access are the Leicester Square one in London and their cinema in Harlow:
