can anyone give me an example of elliptic speech or an elliptical sentence please?

An ellipsis is the omission of a word or phrase necessary for a complete syntactical construction but not necessary for understanding;
e.g. "I'm happy if you are" instead of "I'm happy if you are happy".
Of course, you must be wary of badly constructed elliptical sentences as these can lead to ambiguity;
e.g. "Peter likes to drink Port, Sherry too".
Does this mean "Peter likes to drink Sherry too" or "Sherry likes to drink Port too"?
e.g. "I'm happy if you are" instead of "I'm happy if you are happy".
