Bbc Quiz : Week 4

Good evening all! It’s Friday again!

I could only manage a pathetic score of TWO out of seven on the main quiz this week:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-68097190

There appears to be an error on the junior quiz this week, in that the penguin question requires you to click on an answer and then click ‘Choose’ (which isn’t the usual way of doing things) and subsequently tells you that you’ve got the answer wrong (even when you’ve got it right). So please go by the answer provided (rather than by ‘Correct’ or ‘Wrong’) when totalling up your score.

Having explained that, I can now declare myself to be a perfect kid this week, with a maximum FIVE out of five!

Your turn!

Hi, Jourdain2!

Well done on moving into joint second place - and on being a perfect kid, of course 😊

I'm sorry that you couldn't get your TV set to retune.  If I was in your position, I'd be tempted to get hold of a cheap Freesat box, such as this refurbished one:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363976625713
You could then connect that to an HDMI port on your telly, leaving your telly set to receive the signal from the box, and control your channel selections from the box's remote.  That would then bypass any need to retune your TV set.

I'm not exactly enjoying the winter weather either.  Every time we get a bit of wind, I end up having to reposition the wire (pushed into the bushes at the front of my house) which I use as an antenna for my shortwave transceiver.  My neighbours probably think that the guy with an extending pole, with a hook on the end of it, who keeps hopping about in the mud and cursing a lot is a total nutter.  (They might be right though!)

I hope that you'll have a warm week ahead!

Well done, Lie-in King!

Good scores from you, as always, taking you into joint second place at the moment!

5 and 3. Not too bad by my usual low standards.

Well done, Clover!

Joint second place at the moment!

Beat you easily Chris - 3/7

Same as you in the Junior version - 5/5

See what you meant with the penguin question.

Hi Ken!

Well done on joining the Perfect Kids' Gang this week - and on beating me too, of course!

3/7,2/5. Very middling.Purring Puss Puss is not inspiring me to greater heights and Bailey is digesting his breakfast.Onwards and upwards, hope all is good with you and yours

Baffling but not good. 2/7 and 4/5. I got 4/5 in the kids quiz, I know I did, but the result at the end said 2/5. Spooky! 😵

Not brilliant, maybe, Campbellking but as long as Puss Puss and Bailey are fine, what does it matter anyway? 🐱

My lot are as bonkers and demanding as ever (thankfully!).  I hope that you, PP and B will all have a great week!

Yes, there's definitely something odd about the kids' quiz this week, 10CS.  Let's hope that everything is back to normal next week, as my tired old brain gets confused very easily these days!

(Thanks for letting me beat you!)
