When my children were little they used to make these - so easy. I don't think any of us really liked them but it got them in to cooking and baking. They used to use left over pastry, too, rolling dried fruit in to it and baking as slices.

Not had either for a long time. My mum was always making the solid bread pudding when we were kids, it was a cheap way of topping you up if the main meal was a bit small or not to much money about.
