Personally I'd let it run its course but if I needed to be somewhere and was suffering from unexpected diarrhoea, I'd take Imodium just to be on the safe side for that one occasion.Im not an expert though, it's just what I'd do.

Personally I'd let it run its course but if I needed to be somewhere and was suffering from unexpected diarrhoea, I'd take Imodium just to be on the safe side for that one occasion.

Im not an expert though, it's just what I'd do.

'they' are not keen on using drugs but just letting it rip. Depends how bad it is.

I dont find imodium works - and shhhh I use small doses ( 15mg ) codeine

but I dont k now.... as so many mods on AB say - you're not a doctor !

Barry,it says 'if you need to' but the general advice is let it run its course, keep hydrated, etc, etc.

I'd also let it run it's course. At least then you know if you're actually getting better...naturally.

I do tend to get diarrhea, from the metformin that I take for my Type 2 diabetes. My GP(rather than change my medication midstream) said it was OK to control it with Imodium.Which I  find works for me,but maybe not everyone?

as Vagus says - if you're going to be out and about for the day  it might be better to bottle it up with imodium until such time as you know you'll be handy to toilets. Imodium doesn't exactly cut it short, it'll all have to exit eventually, but it thickens waste so you're less likely to be passing what can feel like hot water.
