I have a tree which is a reasonable size and quite a lot of it overhangs our neighbour's fence. Out of interest can the neighbour make me prune it or is it up to them to do it. I have often read that they can prune any tree etc which overhangs their boundry and then throw the cuttings back over the fence but i've never seen it said whos resonsibility it is to prune.
Thanks for any replies.

You're right - they can prune the overhanging branches and then throw the cuttings or "return" them to you. I wouldn't like to say about responsibility for pruning - presumably your tree, your responsibility.
They could, after giving you notice! employ a professional to do the work and then send you the bill.
