Would It Be Wrong If I Didn't Confront, Or Give A Bad Review, Because The Humane Society Always Cuts My Dogs Quicks?

My dog has very long nails, and they are very dark, so I'm afraid to cut them myself, so I take him to the humane society to have his nails clipped once a month. They are very nice people, but it seems like every time but one, they cut one of his quicks, and hurt him. I was just gonna leave a bad review, but maybe the right thing to do would be to talk to them first. I really don't want to do that, because I have horrible social anxiety, so I was just gonna take my dog elsewhere to have his claws trimmed.

If you do not want to talk to them directly, how about you email them setting out your concerns?  It would not be wrong if you did not make public comment - you are under no duty to do so.

Take the dog somewhere else. Why are you always looking for problems?

I just don't want dogs to fall victims to their carelessness. That's why I feel I should do something.

Why didn't you tell them?

I didn't want to start any confrontation

Email them! and take your dog somewhere else.

I'm guessing that the Humane Society is cheaper or free...a bit like PDSA here.

Cindy, just email them. Then you can take your time and word it carefully.

Why did you keep taking him?

Try walking your dog on pavements (sidewalks) as this may help wear his nails down.

don't confront them, just mention that they cut the quick on previous visitsvisits

or learn how to do it yourself.

Buy a pair of dog nail clippers, practice holding and operating them before you put them anywhere near your dog.

Trim the dogs nails before they get too long and deformed - it will be much easier if you only have to trim a bit off straight nails.  Cut the nails back just enough so the nails don't touch the floor when the dog is standing up.

Better to do little and often.
