National Trust 'Inclusivity And Wellbeing' Calendar Omits Christian Festivals

It's inclusive - except for those it excludes.   What was that about charity beginning at home?

The calendar was provided for the use of NT volunteers, not for the public. I guess the NT presumed that their volunteers would not need to be reminded about Christmas and Easter, whereas they might well not know about others' cultural and/or religious festivals.

Why is inclusive an issue with the national trust? Anyone can visit or go walking on any national trust property. The fact that some minorities don't want to is up to them, it's nobody's fault.

The strange fact is that 2024 is 1445/6 in the muslim calendar, 2080 in the hindu calendar, and 5784/5(that's a long time) in the jewish calendar. A calender showing 2024 is useless to any of them! It is a Gregorian calendar, the internationally accepted civil calendar used in Western Christendom. Why then exclude the festivals that only appertain to the calendar?

TOGO, does a member of a non-Christian faith never have the need to use a Gregorian calendar as part of their day-to-day interactions with others and officialdom?

 

What about those of no faith, which calendar do they use in the UK?

Do you mean that they do need to know when the Christian Festivals are so that they can avoid/respect/ignore them(choose your own option) or need to know when pay day, benefits day, Remembrance Day is?

One that shows no religious festivals/holidays at all? Is it the responsibility of the nt to provide them free of charge to such people, and do they all volunteer to work there?

TOGO you argue a Gregorian 2024 calendar is of no use to those of non-Christian faiths but those with no faith at all can use them, regardless of whether or no specific dates are identified for religious reasons, can they not?

No I don't that is your twist. I argue that the majority of people who do use the calendar have had their religious festivals removed for perverse reasons beyond understanding for normal people. You do not know when Lent, Good Fiday, or Whitsun is in 2024 do you?! You will need to look it up. Would it be a good thing henceforth to remove muslim and hindu religious dates from the Christian/Gregorian calendar so as not to confuse the poor souls? Are Christian festivals listed in their own calendars? If not why not?

I've visited 2 NT properties recently.  All i have seen is a big push on Christmas. I've not seen any mention of any other festivals.

I don't and I don't know if you are a Christian but if you are, do you celebrate Good Friday, Lent and Whitsun?
