Has anyone done a retreat or something similar in Ireland, Uk or anywhere else in Europe? I would like to do something to detox my life -both mind and body - and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for (oh I feel a song coming on) on-line. Any suggestions gratefully received.

A couple of years back, we had a week in the Killarney Hotel, Killarney, Southern Ireland. It rained nearly every day, but it was so relaxing & stress free. Had a ride in a Jaunty cart which was fun. The shops were so behind the times & everyone was so laid back. We thoroughly chilled out!
Try doing a google search for Delphi (in Ireland) or Stobo Castle (in Scotland).
I'm from Killarney and there are many hotels here but i really don't think there's one called the Kilalrney Hotel. It is a good place though. At the moment its really buzzing as there's always something going on.
I'll have to look back in our holiday file, as I was sure that's what it was called, although friends of ours booked it. It was quite a 'posh' hotel near the centre of Killarney. We had such a great time there, even tho' it rained most of the time - but that's Ireland for you!
If ur stuck on ireland (and i think its a brill choice) get onto the irish tourist board and check out some of the cottages that they rent in the west of ireland...all along the west coast with galway and kerry and connemara have just what u are looking for. Enjoy!!!!
By retreat do you mean totally detached from the modern world? If so a number of religious organisations can help you.Generally this will mean living in a monastary/seminary for a few weeks and is very reasonable cost wise. The most famous one is Aghious something or other that Prince Charles goes to for 2 weeks a year, although that one is men only not even female animals are allowed.
Well that's a bit sexist then archbishop! Only joking - it's nice for males & females to share company with their own somtimes!

Thanks to you all for your suggestions. Archbishop - yes I do mean detached from the modern world. A monastery or something similar might do the trick. Bluedolphin - I live in Dublin, so you could say I am "stuck" in Ireland!!
What about something like this:

I'm just back from a week in France with yoga and beautiful walks in the countryside. Not a full-on retreat but very relaxing. I found it on responsibletravel.com
