Probably not - they all seem about as useless as each other.

The best solution we've found is to run the toaster without the bread for a full cycle and then quickly put the bread in to toast - works pretty well.
I must confess that this problem has passed me by, toast is toast I thought. How wrong could I be?
Mmm...even my cheapo Lidl own-brand toaster makes perfectly good toast. Perhaps the choice of bread has something to do with the perceived problem?
I know what the OP means. When you toast bread over a fire the outsides brown quickly but the inside stays soft and fluffy.
Using a toaster can dry the inside, changing the texture because the bread gets warm as the toaster heats up.
Sunny dave's solution does help.
Thicker slices.
As we no longer have an open fire I only use a toaster occasionally, much preferring to use a very hot grill.
When I make toast, I grill it, clort it with margarine and grill it again.

I usually use Tesco's Toastie loaf, its much better and it's almost half the price of Warburton's Toastie loaf.
Butter or dripping goes on toast, not marge.
Can't beat toast done under an eye level gas grill.
I had a look on the Warburton site and didn't know that the 800g and 400g Toastie loafs have different sized slices.

I took it for granted the 400g loaf had half the slices but each slice is 60% the weight of the ones in the larger loaf.
