I'm an office temp and sometimes take the day off for appointments (like we do) or I may need to slip off early in the afternoon. When I tell my co-worker I won't be in out of courtesy, she'll ask, "Is the appt for you or someone else?" or "What time is the appointment?", when I have to leave an hour or two earlier in the day.
It's none of her business but she is nosy.

Just say 'thanks for asking but it's personal' and leave it at that

Blimey, I wish I worked in a place like that. Ok the co worker is asking questions, but do you inform your boss that you're leaving early?.?

Of course I do, SharonA. That's mandatory and doesn't even come into the equation here. I'm talking about my co-worker.
Just tell her to mind her own business.
In the interest of maintaining a good working relationship I would refrain from telling her, 'it's none of your business!'

Working closely with someone, I would probably have told that person that I would be going off at whatever time to go to dentist or whatever
so she wouldn't need to be nosy!
I think Barry has the right idea - a polite deflection maintains good working relations, she'll get the message pretty quickly, that you are not discussing your business outside the office.
appt - - yes for me
