Tax for a second job??

I'm thinking about getting a second job, but not sure if it's worth it. I already earn �23k pa roughly. If I get paid �100 per week in the second job, does anyone know what tax I'd pay? Thanks

Anyone taking on a second job should declare this to their main employer and to the Inland Revenue straight away for tax purposes. The full earnings from the 2nd job will attract tax at 22% and NI at 11%.

kempie is right about the tax, you will pay 22% on all your earnings from the second job. However, national insurance works differently, and provided there is no connection between the 2 employers you will be given the �97 a week exemption in the 2nd job as well as the first. You will only pay 11% on anything over this amount.
