Arrows on desktop icons.

I got rid of these on my PC desktop, but can't remember how. Now I'd like to banish them from my laptop. Anyone any ideas, please ?

Do you mean the arrow at the bottom left hand corner of the icon? If so, this simply indicated that it is a shortcut to something.You can just right click on the icon and select delete, and this will remove the icon from your desctop.It will not delete the file or program from you Laptop.

Yes, that's the arrow I mean. But it's just the arrow I want to shift, not the icon itself. A program called Tweak UI used to do this, but doesn't any more. All my desktop icons are wild flowers, and I don't want to lose them. But thanks for taking an interest, Teak36.

TweakUI does indeed still allow you to remove the arrow from Shortcuts :

Once installed, expand the Explorer option and you have Shortcut.
