I sent my submission about ten weeks ago and have alreyad emailed once, which I received a reply to say it was still with them. Is it a good sign if its with the agency longer then they predicted on time scale and what should I do next. Its currently with Christopher LIttle Agency and is a non-ficition book.

I'm still waiting on one agent four months on. I emailed yesterday to say that whilst I understand they may have a high volume of manuscripts to read, I would like some indication of whether or not they intend to consider mine for publication. I've also stated that if I don't hear from them within fourteen days, then I will assume they're not interested and will submit elsewhere.

That was yesterday. In thirteen days' time, I will act on that.

Six weeks to three months would be a reasonable amount of time, so if I were you, I would do the same. Be polite, but at the same time, let them know that you're not one to tolerate being messed about.
