Ford FIesta Dashboard lights

I have a 1996 fiesta 1.3 and when I turn on my lights for some reason the dashboard no longer lights up, any ideas how to fix this?

probably a bulb behind the dash or a fuse, should tell you in the owners manual if you have one, or look in a haynes manual
