It depends how well she knows him. People do seem to hug more now than they used to. My hairdresser hugs his regular customers - and he’s not gay. If she’s uncomfortable with it she should ask him not to do it - or find another salon.

it's time to move on.
I think a lot depends on how often you have been going to the salon - if you are a frequent client, this guy may think he knows you well enough to give you a hug? We don't really know much about you, Abbey, despite your frequent posts - if you appear to be ultra-friendly,
then people might respond equally.
//You've got the perfect excuse, tell him to keep his distance because you are worried about COVID//

Better still, tell him to keep his distance because you've GOT Covid. That should do the trick.
New clothes every week, tanning sessions, drinks out, nights out........
How the young live 'eh?!?!
Yes, Sharon, I've been wondering about that. Tanning Studios cost quite a lot per session I believe and Abbeyleigh cannot be earning very much.
Damaging your skin whilst young will bring regrets later, Abbey.
I'm beginning to agree with Lankeela - all very improbable.
The Ed has already asked that people give their suspicions a rest...not everyone got the message.
I didn't know the Ed.l had asked that.
The man's sexuality is irrelevant
The thing I find creepy, or at least a little odd anyway, is that anyone with half a brain should use sunbeds at all these days. The damage that they do to one's skin, including a considerably heightened risk of skin cancer, is well known nowadays. So why would anyone choose to use them?

Catcuddler - I disagree.

Gay men are often overtly physically affectionate with female friends, and acquaintances, because they are 'safe', so no barriers are being encroached.

Therefore, if this man may be gay, he may be behaving as he does with other female acquaintances, which explains his behaviour.

That said, no man, or woman whatever their orientation, should assume that because no discomfort is intended, does not always automatically mean that it is not felt.

If the poster is uncomfortable, she should make that known, and if the behaviour persists, she should either report it to the manager or owner, or take her business elsewhere, or both.
