My younger sister is staying with me at the moment and she has got herself into a bit of debt with catalogues. he ex boyfriend (who she lived with until 3 weeks ago) gave them my telephone number as a contact for her. These debt departments are ringing at all hours of night and day. I used to work in the collections department for a vehicle finance company and were werent permitted to call after 9pm, on bank holidays, Saturdays after 5 or anytime on a Sunday. Is this still the case or can these people ring at any time?

Contrary to popular opinion, There are no laws about the time a call can be made. There is a limit on the frequency of the calls though & I believe it's something like more than nine times & a 24- hour period.
