I left my husband 18 months ago, and we are now divorced. At the time of leaving we had 100.000 pound equitity in the house, he has now been in touch and wants to buy me out, though I havent contributed to mortage since leaving, but did so for 20 years, would I still be entitled to a 50.000 share? as he has offered me 25.000

Don't accept the 25000. You must have the 50000 as your half share at the time of leaving. Don't forget the house will have appreciated in value since you left so by paying the mortgage this increase in value is his gain not your original share..
Totally agree with Dassie. If the house was valued at the time you split then you are entitled to 50k. Dont take a penny less.
