kuiperbelt, anyone who makes it to these shores does not have a legitimate claim to asylum. The legitimacy of their claim has to be assessed.

Why anyone wants economic migrants to be successful in their claims for asylum is quite beyond me.

LOL... The point I was trying to make (obviously not very well LOL). It is a fundamental human right afforded to every individual
arriving in the UK (by whatever means) to make an application for asylum. They cannot be simply turned about face and sent packing to whence they came. Of course, the claim will be assessed by the Home Office and refugee status may or may not be granted.

Current figures up to mid 2022 show overwhelmingly the liklihood is that the majority will be successful with their claims!! :-)
Naomi; "kuiperbelt, anyone who makes it to these shores does not have a legitimate claim to asylum. The legitimacy of their claim has to be assessed."

Do you not see the mistake in your sentence? You say the legitimacy has to be assessed, but you have just said that they do not have a legitimate claim. Are you not then claiming that you have assessed their claim and decided that it is not legitimate?

What about channels like customs?

Documented, proceed to green, undocumented, use red.

The undocumented channel leads straight to the bus leaving for the detention centre where processing will begin immediately with a decision being final.
Anyone whose origins can't or won't be confirmed will be airlifted to a barren but habitable lump of rock offshore until reality dawns and they co-operate.
