I didn't know where to put this question but as seeing as I read it in my local newspaper this section seemed as good as any.
What I read was that the local buses and taxis where I live have increased the prices of their fares citing rising fuel costs to justify their actions. But surely fuel costs have come down in recent weeks (all over the country as well as where I live) as much as 12p per litre..
How can this be right?
And also why is it whenever fuel prices come down it's never passed down to the customer in cheaper fares be it buses, trains, planes or taxis but they are so eager to raise ticket prices when fuel costs go up??

Hehehe, love your mispelling of 'fair' in your title, considering the topic matter :-)
i think that was deliberate Boo...

and re the question its just cynical money making - always happens and there isn't much people can do about it ... unless some sort of a choice is left or the companies can be prosecuted for price fixing (maybe as if comps in competition all set them up high and at the smae-ish price)

very annoying

Good old Capitalism at work. See the chance of a quick buck and jump at it.
Whenever there is a near-monopoly situation, or where demand outstrips supply, prices go up and the rich get richer.
Who wants to run a business only to make a small profit when it would be so much easier just to leave your money lying in a bank account?
The poor man or woman in the street just can't expect to do any more than keep their head above water.
