Starts last letter of 6d. Think cars, presidents and a particular play (I needed help on the latter)

Thank you Prof M...i can see it now!
Don't forget the 'Title'

You can get over it !

A very pleasing puzzle until the last 3 unclued at 11, 31 and 33.

The nod from Professor Maisie helped me get there eventually with regards to the remaining 3

I had searched Two other playwrights till I hit upon the correct one. Then you have a multitude of Plays to go through until you find the particular play.
Posts crossed pomona :-)
Third set is very obscure.
Please give me the first letters of 11d and 33d.
I am assuming playwright is John and the word to be highlighted.
No hankir, I made that mistake. It's not John or Madox.

11d S
33d F
The playwright is not the connector. It's Characters of a certain play not associated with the above.
My apologies Hankir. The highlighted word is indeed associated with those two names. But it is not a play by either that you are looking for. Sorry for the confusion :-(
Cracking puzzle, and thanks for the tip PM.

One of the trios could fit into another, which had me scratching my head; I also noticed that there is another link between the theme word and the “play” trio, in the form of a location….
It's very kind of you all but I can't take any credit for the link to the play - I was stuck on the 3rd set too, until I saw jadzia49's hint on another site.
I was very lucky with the third trio as I wouldn't mind £1 for every time I've heard the highlighted name and 31 down in quizzes. The usual form is asking for the names of the central characters of the play and occasionally giving their names and asking for the play.
I have the theme and two of the main ingredients but stuck on the play. A nudge would be appreciated. Thanks
Set in a town with a very famous castle.
Thanks Novalis - that's all I needed!
Thanks klazomaniac.
You're welcome Hankir. Sorry for bumblings, I could have explained far more clearly. Just didn't want to give the game away too much.
'for my bumblings' ***

I'm at it again. Think I need a nap ;-)
