Himself is off today so he took be out for an early lunch and a mooch round the garden centre, bought some root trainers, some more seeds and some seed potatoes.
Such fun, due to having lunch out dinner tonight will just be soup.
What’s happening with you anyone want to chat?

Noooo oh you are so patient! I would be saying in a joking manner that you will start charging for your services!
trouble is he is fairly new and i had no problems previously helping him (therwise the project would fail because he never reads his emails or messages till it's too late), i just resent it now, but i know i shouldnt because i didnt apply. Really i just want to retire and not have to care about work. Since my daughter died, i cant seem to get the enthusiasm for much
except moaning - i have endless enthusiasm for that! :)

Could I know but if someone gets a promotion then they should be up for the job imo
Good afternoon Helen and Bednobs. It's lovely and sunny here again, a bit of sun makes all the difference doesn't it?
Nothing wrong in having a good moan Bednobs, I find it helps to put my thoughts in order.
You using the root trainers for sweetpeas RedHelen? I used to always have sweetpeas on the go, I love them in the house. But since moving here where I am adjacent to a field, I won't grow them any more because the keels always got full of ruddy rape seed beetles. Horrible, you go to have a sniff of the lovely perfume, and virtually inhale the damned bugs!
he'll definitely grow into it - he's young and ambitious, whereas im probably towards the other end of my career
sorry, you werent there when i started ferlew!
Just sat here doing a bit of diamond dot painting, very theraputic. Started with the cheap chinese ones, but now I buy lovely canvases from a UK supplier.
what is that?
Simply - it's a canvas with a printed picture, much like a tapestry or cross stitch, but then it has a layer of glue poured on it. It's then supplied with enough "diamonds" in various colours to complete the picture. The one I just finished has almost 70,000 gems.
Wonder if this will work?

it does work - very nice. A bit like painting by numbers, or the thing i used to get for my daughter where you could make pictures of (say) unicorns from sticky pads put in the right place (obvs much more intricate though in your case)!

Peas, broad beans and squashes ferlew.

Bednobs I still think you are very patient
Bednobs, I seem to have endless enthusiasm for that too. Mr BM has a PhD in moaning though!

Ferlew, I simply wouldn't have the patience but that is very impressive.

RH - what spuds did you buy? We had Sharpes Express last year and I didn't like them at all. I think we are going for Charlottes this year. And for root trainers, use the inner tubes of toilet rolls. We'll put all our peas and beans in them and then they can go straight in the ground.
Good afternoon, I do so admire you ladies who are good at gardening. I once happened upon a pretty little flower growing all by itself and decided to nurture it - which I did quite lovingly. It turned out to be a rogue rapeseed plant blown in from surrounding fields! In my defence I had only just moved to the country from the city so had no idea what was growing in the fields… but that’s no defence really. Truth is I’m rubbish at gardening.

I used toilet rolls before but then went mouldy and I have a phobia of mould. BM so hence the reusable root trainer.
Not sure of the tatties, first early although tbh I have had better success with supermarket tatties in the past.
Naomi this is my 4 year of veggie growing and I love it. The fact that I can do nearly a whole meal from my garden is just a joy to me.
Plus it makes me feel like my dad is close
Lol Naomi. They ARE pretty little flowers though and so colourful.

More than once I have nurtured an unknown plant and then discovered it to be a weed. As a farmer's daughter, I have no excuse at all!!!!
i am a lazy gardener - i like looking at them but happy to leave the work to others
Question Author
I don’t think that’s lazy just clever
