anyone remember a early 90s bbc2 documentary series that came on around 6pm in the winter 15-30mins long which had a member of public with a camcorder making a programme about issues that affected them, distinctively they used public payphones to carry out their enquiries - was it called "personal (?)private (?)investigations"? Also anyone have more info on 1980s bbc2 series The works" came on about 9-10pm with a voice over by a scottish guy called iirc stuart , it was about how stuff worked. thx

Wasn't that called Vox Pop ? in answer to your first question
I think it was called something like your shout and it was a really awful worthy bit of bbc **** which they always tend to do to be pc but noone watches it - it was made by the community programmes unit

googling voxpop and your shout isn;t bringing anything up, i recall episodes about a campaigning woman whose son died after being hit by a falling rock and another about a drag artist who could'nt find ladies shoes in his width fittings
