loads of answers please! We want to move away from Norfolk eventually and maybe we're hard to please but here's what we want... somewhere on or near the coast but not too much of a commercial sea-sidey town with tons of amusements, bingo etc but also access to countryside too. I love the country but the sea really helps with my breathing so that's important too. We've just come back from the Isle of Wight which is the closest we've found to all we want so far. Doesn't have to be a big town as long as there's local shops, doctors etc. Open to suggestions, over to you lovely people....

Come to Wales, From Pembrokeshire right the way up and around towards the Wirral is Fantastic, I live in North Wales and Places Like Llandudno still retain a charm without all the rubbish, Harlech, Criccieth, Newquay, are all beautiful places with great beaches and some of the views are superb, not giving you info on all the hidden treasures or we will be overrun, good luck, Ray
Christchurch in Dorset. Whitby in Yorkshire. Dartmouth in Devon, but best of all Cape Town ( S.Africa)
Sounds like this is the place for you mydogsandme

As RAYSPARKS says.
Try the west coast of wales, from Aberystwtyth to Cardigan, there are lots of nice villages...
What about somewhere like Clevedon in Somerset? or Whitstable in Kent .... both are nice little places - bit old-fashioned.

BTW Raysparx1 - I've been to Criccieth and it was absolutely beautiful. I would love to live there ... if it was slightly closer to London! lols

Avoiding Weymouth and Swanage, you could try looking in Dorset. Long coastline from Bournemouth to Lyme Regis and beautiful countryside too boot.
West Wales - can't go wrong! Beautiful coastal walks to help with your breathing, lovely local pubs, gorgeous towns with all necessary amenities, and you get a perfect combination of seaside and countryside!!

(I'm now missing Aberporth where I lived for a couple of years!)

lovely suggestions- I'm going to investigate on the internet now!
I agree on Wales. Pembrokeshire-fab!- I visit often. North West Wales -fab! - Have family in Anglesey. Would you consider Swansea though? Definitely not seaside-y.

Yes I happen to live there and nothing would ever tear me away despite the fact that Cardiff is better for shopping

We've been thinking of moving to somewhere like Tenby - sounds as though you're looking for something similar.
