I have done all the clues but haven’t a clue of the theme except that silver and 12 D which I hope is jubbly are suggestive. Anyone prepared to give me a hint? Thanks

Hi Bozzer!
It really doesn't surprise me that you have had no answers. Pabulum's effort is the hardest I've ever tackled. Perhaps you can help me?Hints/answers to 14a, 18a 15d & 44a would go a long way to get me going.
Question Author
Elaps
Beaut
Pfennig
Shea nut
I have still no idea how to progress
There is a bit of exchange of views in another post which didn’t really help me.
Best of luck
44a. shea nut ....... she (book) anagram of aunt.
Theme is a London Underground line.
14 a - snakes is the definition - a word for go grey reversed round middle letter of Assam.
18 a - fine is the definition - think Aussie - sounds like a 4 letter Scottish island
15 d - Old German coin
44 a - Three letter novel title + anagram of aunt
Ha! Now I know why I couldn’t solve the anagrams, lovely jubbly wasn’t bubbly but jubilee. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to find sparkling wines!
Hi again to Bozzer, teacher1 and Novalis
As a reward and thank you for your help I strongly suggest you google BBC Food Quick chicken stew. It really is delicious!
ps. As a Canadian this takes a little doing!
Farrwest - and others - you'll see on the other threads for this puzzle that some unclued entries don't have one specific solution, options are available. A bit of a shame, really.
Farrwest, a bit off-theme but I'll try the recipe this week. Thanks!

Thanks to novalis in particular. I see the connection now and can relax.
Hey Farrwest, another Canadian here!

Like others, I've filled in all the clued answers. I'm so stumped by this one. I've read everything on this thread and am no closer to having the penny drop.
Question Author
12D jubbly = mispronounced jubilee
Title of puzzle “Silver”
On the London tube map the Jubilee line is indicated as a silver line (all the different lines are different colours)
Each of the pairs of clues is a station on the jubilee line but an anagram thereof. EG 3/34 words form Baker Street
Etc

The usual fee is a recipe. I look forward to yours
Hi Piffpoff,
I suggest you look at an answer on this thread by Novalis. He gives us the theme!
