Simple exercises are always underrated, because they seem so well, simple. Concentrate on press ups and chins. And use lots of variation.

Press ups: wide grip, close grip, hands reaching forward, feet raised on a step or chair, with someone holding your feet up, or on one hand. If someone holds your feet, walk on your hands, that's a great exercise too. As you get strong, clap after each press up. And you can do this variation: feet closer to your hands, raise your backside high, your body making an inverted V, and do the press ups with a scooping movement down and up again. From there push straight back to the start position and repeat. Tough but a great workout, and affects the shoulders, arms and chest like nothing else.

Chins: wide grip, sometimes a close grip. Sometimes slower and more concentrated, sometimes quicker and sharper. Do them in sets or go for 50, or even 100, doing as many sets as necessary to reach your goal.

Breathe deeply when you exercise (exaggerate it), and do lots of stretching in your warm up so you dont suffer strains. Eat a balanced diet, cut out all the garbage, and eat a little more than you think you need (youll need that extra fuel to build up).

If you train hard and eat well youll make gains and youll see and feel the difference.

Heres a site here that has some interesting info, but there are lots of others, not hard to find. Good luck and enjoy your training!

Oh, and 'listen' to your body. Don't keep doing what isn't working for you. When it feels like it's really hitting the spot, give it your best shot. And don't believe all the hype - all you need is hard training and a good diet, nothing fancy. Vary your training often too - your body adapts quickly and stops responding if you don't.
