I have the answer to the first one, but have had someone on here being rude to me for helping people, so will only give clues for you to solve it.
The whole answer is an important church.
The first part is the town (and starts with the name for "one" that has been split into "two"), plus an "i" then add the name of a famous carpet manufacturer.

Thank you TheWinner - had thought of axminster but couldn't figure the first bit but thanks to your clue have now got it - Halifax Minster.
The other clues are hard as I am not familiar with that area.
2. Difficult ! Wonder if first word could be Upper - can only come up with Upper Poppleton but can't see how it fits the clue apart from having 14 letters.
2. I don't know the area at all, but could it be something to do with an airport?
5. After giving this a great deal of thought, I have an answer to offer, but am not sure its right.
King Harold was known as HAL
1 = I
the machine could be a FAX
and the answer "could" be the name of a football team.

The football team is called FC Halifax Town so thats more than 9
Thewinner...I like your thinking on 5 but if its King Harold 1 as in 1st his nickname was harold harefoot. I think Hal was king Henry's nickname
