My brother recently brought me three bottles of red wine:

"Domaine Confuron Cotetidot" 1999

Pinot Noir

Should I be grateful? Is this a wine to guzzle or what?

It is considered a 'fine wine'

Pinot Noir is a grape that is considered very difficult to grow and nurture, so in that respect it is considered a good wine because of that complexity alone.

However, enjoying the wine really does come down to the individual's taste. For example, I find Pinot Noir to be a very heavy wine and so I don't drink it.

I suggest you try it, and if you like the taste then you should definitely take the time to enjoy it. And invite your brother over to enjoy it with you!
It is not a 'guzzle with a barbecue' wine that's for sure.

Be grateful, or send them on to me.
p.s. Any wine that is worth 'guzzling' should not be guzzled at all. You should turn that stuff into Sangria! ;o)
you should be grateful for any gift, if its wine then hey thats even better.
Free booze is free booze... if it in't good after one glass it will be good after 3. At least that is what my Grandma used to say and she definately loved her wine.
