MasterMG went to his great grandparents today. My husband's first cousin was there with her granddaughter who is about 6 months older that MMG and they met for the first time and played beautifully together, so I've just been told.

What relation are the children? I could probably work it out but my brain hurts right now, along with most of my internal viscera.

Thank you for your answers.

The great grandparents have 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and even great, great grandchildren. Confused.com.
I'd just go with 'a relative'. :-)

Thank you, 237.

Tilly, that would hurt my head a lot less.
Those children are very lucky to have great grandparents , I am now a Great grandparent myself and I find that to be an honour as I never knew my own grandparents although I vaguely recall going on a train to a place called Doncaster :0) and being put to bed up some spiral stairs and cryingj

The little girl he was playing with, although older than MMG, was a generation below him.

MMG is their great grandson and the little girl is their great great granddaughter.

I remember my nan's father and my granddad's mother. They died in 1983 and 1982 respectively.
My father was in the RAF and served in Egypt during the War, my Mum and he had 3 children then , then after the war I came along in 1946, I have the most beautiful sister who was 90 last June and is as bright as a button, sadly the other two have died, my sister lived in NZ and died with dementia, my brother was serving in the army when I came along :0)
sort of around 50 y ago
80% of the English knew the names of their grandparents and only 20% knew the names of their gt grandparents

my father was not sure of his grandfathers name and that made genealogy fun
Bobbi, a place called Doncaster. I know Doncaster very well, especially Doncaster Royal Infirmary - it is one of the best hospitals I have ever been admitted to. My step-father received end of life care there. You mentioning Doncaster, it brought back memories.
I know of it now Xeronema but as a very small child, it was somewhere a long way away
