On that model just hold down the Start/Pause button with any programme on the selector chosen. I see that the end light has gone off ... did you manage to cancel that light?

It's stopped flashing but the water still, isn't flowing through the inlet pipe.

I kept the start/pause button pressed for over 10 secs but that didn't do anything. When I turn the dial to off and then back onto cottons the end light starts flashing again.

So.......my neighbour checked the washing machine water inlet and it was fine.

I have now discovered that the cold water going into the annex isn't working. The hot water is working so it's just a problem with the cold water flow and not the washing machine. A checkatrade plummer told me to check the water meter outside to see if it was whizzing round and it wasn't so it's not a burst pipe......good news!

Now to figure out why I'm not getting any cold water!?
