2 weeks ago I received a message that my battery needed changing as it had almost expired.Sin ce then the following has happened. My printer has stopped working . The message showing on the printer screen is that it is not connected to the internet. Secondly E mails that I get daily from Marks and Spencer have been missing since battery was failing.Could the reason for this be a dying battery

Neither problem is related to the poor state of your battery.

It's not uncommon for printers to lose their connection to a router. You simply need to go through the process to reconnect it. (If you need instructions, please tell us the exact make and model of your printer).

Your missing emails are probably in your 'Spam' folder (or 'Junk', or whatever else your email service calls it).
If you only use your laptop in one place at home (rather than out-and-about), there is no need to replace the battery. Just use the laptop connected to the mains. (I've used mine like this for years!).
^^^I do the same as gingejbee
