lets hope so. That might convince him that breaking the law is not a very good idea. Insurance is there for a purpose.

Dont expect any sympathy from others on here.
If you're going to take a dig at least be constructive and answer the question.
I have been a victim of being hit by a non-insured driver. It took over 6 months of battling with solicitors, taking time off work to get quotes and having to drive around with a damaged (but not unroadworthy vehicle). Therefore, I can see why spaced answered like he did.

Si_D you picked spaced up for not giving a constructive answer but didnt make any contributution to the question either.

kwaki - it does seem a straight forward case of driving without adequate insurance. The maximum fine is 5,000 and the points are 6-8, disqualification is discretionary.
The second offence of Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence carries a maximum of 1,000 and 3-6 points and again disqualification is discretionary.

It depends how he pleads and what if any reasons he has for driving uninsured.
si_d.....shut up mate. What sort of response where you expecting? The post did not qualify or deserve a "constructive dig".

It's cases like Mrs Pegasus endured that angers me. Sorry to hear you bad experience mrs pegasus. Si_D there is no reason WHATSOEVER that anyone should be driving without insurance. Cant afford it? Dont fricking drive!

An next time, before having a "dig" at me, why dont you at least give your own opinion of the question instead of butting in a commenting on someone else. Moron.
Would expect your lad to get a 200 fine for the driving offence, possibly five to six hundred pounds for the insurance offence and points on his licence to the maximum of nine, but I do not think he will be disqualified as there are no other mitigating factors. Fine will also depend on your son's ability to pay as if he was unemployed I would expect the fine to be lesser than if he was working. These quotes are based on your son being in employment.

If i was him I would go to court on the day, get some advice from the duty solicitor on duty that day, and get your lad to apologise to the court for his actions. Magistrates are ordinary people like you and me but they like to see a bit of remorse especially for first tiome offenders. Also speak to your son to give the court information about income and how much of the fine he can afford to pay back each week .
6 points on a licence that hasnt been held for over 2 years is an auto ban.................... so i thought
im 24 and know whats its like to get insurance on your first car.....but i ******* managed and so should everyone else im 24 now and my insurance is still sky high because of immature little brats like him that ruin it for the rest of us. i have been driving a while now but only have 2 years no claims because i stopped owning a car for a while, ive never made a claim and my insurance is going up to over 50 a month because im still tagged in with all the other little ***** on the road. it ****** me off so much that people have no regard for other people who are decent people and go about paying there way why cant people bring their kids up properly so that they have a little respect for other poeple. right rant over
