Hi there! Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas on developing a primary school assembly based on friendship?

The best assemblies I remember from school included real life stories. On the TV the other day there was a programme about the two friends who were stuck in the snow on a mountain somewhere, for example. Maybe you could tell them a few things like that, with a moral to each story at the end?

Also, how about referring to the TV programme 'Friends'? Most children are familar with it so it should keep them interested.

Great tips. Much appreciated! thanks
Is this a general assembly given by a teacher or are the children taking part?

If I was going to do one I would start by welcoming the children and announcing what the assembly is about then read them a short friendship based story and do some sort of question and answer minute - children love that!

You could also maybe do a few prayers (if you are a religious school) and then tie the assembely up with a song!

When is this assembley - you could get some of the children to write about their friends and what they enjoy doing with them etc
