My nephew was born on thursday with a hole in his lung, I've never heard of this before, only heard of a hole in the heart. He was quite a size 9lbs 6oz, I have just found out he has been put in intensive care and has been given medication to sedate him till they work out what can be done. Has anyone heard of the success rate on kiddies born with this condition? I have asked this on another chat site also, just incase anyone sees it.

me too, thankx for your kind words x
This hole will usually close up on its own if a chest tube is placed in the chest cavity. This tube will drain the air out so pressure doesnt build up in the chest cavity. It will be removed when the pneumothorax is gone.

Hope the little fellas ok and home soon, poor little mite.
